Jazzy Ash, Mansion Memories team up for a musical afternoon

Mansion Memories, the Redlands Bowl, and Jazzy Ash are bringing music to everyone on Sunday, Feb. 28.

For the next virtual Making it Magical presentation, Ashli St. Armant — also known as Jazzy Ash — will perform hits from her chart-topping children’s music albums Ready and Swing Set. The fun will start at 4 p.m. on the Mansion Memories Facebook and YouTube pages.

Jazzy Ash’s love of music started early — her mother is from New Orleans and her father is from Trinidad, and the sounds of jazz and Caribbean rhythms filled her home. She earned her degree in early childhood development and launched Leaping Lizards Music, a music education program. Along with her band, the Leaping Lizards, Jazzy Ash has performed at the Lincoln Center, Getty Center, the Ann Arbor Summer Festival, and Symphony Space.

Making it Magical presentations are a virtual alternative to Mansion Memories’ events for children in crisis, They are open to everyone and streamed online for free. “It’s been a joy putting on these presentations during these hard times,” Mansion Memories Executive Director Dianna Lawson said. “The positive response we have received has been so inspiring.” To donate to Mansion Memories, visit their website. —Catherine
