Auditions for the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival’s production of Disney’s The Little Mermaid are set for April 4 and 11 at First Congregational Church.
Auditions will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. All roles are open. Participants must sing 16 measures of any Broadway musical-style song, and are asked to bring their own sheet music in their key. An accompanist will be on site; participants will not be allowed to sing a cappella or along with a CD track.
Director Wayne Scott may also ask participants to recite lyrics from their song or to read excerpts from the script, as well as perform a dance routine taught that day.
The auditions for principal and choral roles will take place on April 4, with callbacks on April 11.
Disney’s The Little Mermaid will run from July 23 to 26 at the Redlands Bowl, with all performances starting at 8 p.m. A public dress rehearsal is scheduled for July 21.
First Congregational Church is at 2 W. Olive, Redlands. For more information on the audition process, visit the Redlands Bowl website. —Catherine
