Redlands has its own version of the famous Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop — the annual New Year’s Eve Orange Drop.
Now in its third year, the New Year’s Eve Orange Drop is a family-friendly event, presented by the Redlands Chamber of Commerce and the City of Redlands. Restaurants, bars, and a number of stores in downtown Redlands will be open so revelers can eat, drink, and shop, and there will be special activities for kids from 7 to 9 p.m., including a bounce house, obstacle course, and face painting.
DJ Soundbytes will provide the music, and there will be a variety of food vendors set up near Ed Hales Park. Aroi Mak Mak, Copehouse, Redlands Oyster Cult, Don Orange, Absent 9, Rok N Fondue, and The Tartan will all participate in the orange drop martini contest, with patrons voting for their favorite. Festivities begin at 7 p.m., and will end when the orange drops at midnight. —Catherine
