Just in time for Halloween, it’s the Hillside Cemetery Walking Tour.
On Saturday, Oct. 26, the Redlands Area Historical Society will present its 10th annual tour, led by Tom Atchley, with assistance from Jill Huntsinger. The two-hour tour will begin at 4 p.m., with participants walking on uneven surfaces and going up some moderate hills.
Attendees will learn all about the history of the cemetery, from its early beginnings in the late 1800s to the people buried there to the architecture and stone walls and curbs crafted by the Works Progress Administration.
The Hillside Cemetery Walking Tour costs $10 for Redlands Area Historical Society members, and $15 for non-members. It will begin by the Egyptian Mausoleum, built in 1928. Hillside Memorial Park is at 1540 Alessandro Road, Redlands. —Catherine
