The Mutual Orange Distribution (MOD) Packing House is about to enter its next phase.
On Saturday, Arteco Partners revealed that the packing house will soon be known as The Redlands Public Market. The market will hold more than a dozen independent eateries and bars, catering to all tastes. Diners can eat inside a common area, or outside in a garden with murals, fountains, a fireplace, and a renovated 1904 trolley. There will also be a demonstration kitchen offering special classes.
The packinghouse was built in 1912, and Arteco Partners said it will ensure that the historical building is carefully renovated and restored. The exterior will return to its former glory, with exposed brick, and a new roof placed on top of the existing one.
Arteco Partners is aiming to have the project completed by the fall of 2020. The Redlands Public Market is at 330 3rd Street, right behind Studio Movie Grill. —Catherine
