Unicycles, trapeze, teeterboard, tumblers, jugglers — The Great All American Youth Circus has it all.
The 79th annual circus will take place May 3-5, 10-12, and 17-19, at the Redlands YMCA. This year’s theme is “Once Upon a Circus,” and will feature more than 400 performers who trained at the Y over the last seven months.
Founded in 1929, The Great All American Youth Circus is the world’s oldest community circus. It’s launched the career of several acrobats and other circus performers, who have gone on to perform in Cirque du Soleil shows, at the San Diego Zoo, and in music videos.
Tickets are $17 for adults, and $12 for kids. Children two and under can sit on an adult’s lap for free. All proceeds benefit the circus. Tickets can be purchased online.
The show will run over three weekends: Friday, May 3, 10, and 17 at 7 p.m.; Saturday May 4, 11, and 18 at 5 p.m.; and Sunday May 5, 12, and 19 at 3 p.m. —Catherine
