Invitation to the Museum of Redlands' spring program

Museum of Redlands presents spring program April 7

During the Museum of Redlands’ spring program on April 7, Dr. Ann Cordy Deegan will show how new historical records available in the A.K. Smiley Public Library’s Heritage Room can offer insight into the past.

Deegan is the author of Early Redlands and Redlands in World War One, and once served as head of the San Bernardino County Museum’s History Division.

The Heritage Room recently scanned report of death cards from 1889 to 1905 and uploaded them to a database. These records include a person’s name, cause of death, marital status, and residence, along with other important information. Deegan will explain the details found on these cards, and how they can reveal hidden history.

The program will begin at 2 p.m. at the Contemporary Club, 173 S. Eureka Street. To register, visit the Museum of Redlands’ website. —Catherine
