Lincoln Shrine extends ‘Reflections of the Face of Lincoln’ through March 31

There’s now more time to check out the Lincoln Memorial Shrine’s fantastic new exhibit, “Reflections of the Face of Lincoln.”

It was originally ending its run on Dec. 29, but the Shrine has extended its end date to March 31, 2019.

Created by Garner Holt Productions, this immersive all-ages show features special effects, multimedia, and an animatronic Abraham Lincoln with “more than 40 independent motions in the face alone,” Garner Holt, GHP founder and president, said in a statement, making it the “the most expressive animatronic character ever built.”

A.K. Smiley Public Library Director Don McCue in a statement said the show is a “combination of theme park magic and real history. We worked hard to strike that balance of a fantasy presentation with real quotes from Lincoln, Frederick Douglass, and others, and real Civil War pictures.”

Tickets for the show are $5 per person. The Lincoln Memorial Shrine is open Tuesday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. —Catherine
