The Redlands Bowl is making it rain next summer — literally.
The Redlands Bowl Performing Arts (RBPA) has selected Singin’ in the Rain as the musical for the 96th season of the Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival. Often referred to as the “greatest movie musical of all time,” this showstopper comes to the Redlands Bowl stage for the first time with each unforgettable scene, song and the iconic dance made classic in the 1952 film.
“In selecting a musical for the Bowl, we look for one that is family-friendly and captures the magic of Bowl,” says Beverly Noerr, RBPA executive director. “Singin’ in the Rain is a perfect Bowl musical. The score is timeless, and the tapping will be epic!”
The show will be co-produced by Legendary Productions team Nathan Prince and Steve Simons, who directed and produced Oklahoma! at the Redlands Bowl in 2016 and promises to capture the magic of the legendary film, including an actual rainstorm on the Bowl stage.
Auditions are currently scheduled for Feb. 2 and 3, 2019, with callback auditions Feb. 10.
