Join the A.K. Smiley Public Library on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for its 15th annual Family Day.
This year’s theme is “A Community of Super Heroes,” and will feature an appearance by Marc Tyler Nobleman, the award-winning author and illustrator of Boys of Steel: The Creators of Superman and Bill the Boy Wonder: The Secret Co-Creator of Batman.
The event is geared toward children in kindergarten through the fifth grade, and kids in those grades will receive a free paperback book, with the first 450 families to check-in near the Young Readers’ Room also getting a free hardcover book.
Admission to Family Day is free, and will also include outdoor activities, story time, live music, and a visit from Nicholas the Therapy Dog. Refreshments will be served, and the Lincoln Shrine will also be open.
The A.K. Smiley Public Library is at 125 W. Vine St., Redlands. For more information, contact the library at 909-798-7674. —Catherine
