Annual Believe Walk in Redlands raises money to fight cancer

On Sunday, Oct. 7, the streets of Redlands will be filled with thousands of people, all walking to fight cancer.

The Believe Walk, sponsored by Stater Bros. Charities and Inland Women Fighting Cancer, raises money to support organizations in the Inland Empire that improve cancer care and offer services for cancer patients and their families. The 5K walk, open to all ages, starts at the intersection of State Street and Orange Street in downtown Redlands, ending at the Redlands Bowl. After walkers cross the finish line, they’ll find themselves at the Believe Bash, with 50 vendors offering free goodies to participants.

Participants can walk as individuals or on teams. Online registration ends Oct. 3, with adults 13 and up costing $35, children four to 12 $10, and children three and under free. Adults and children four to 12 will receive a T-shirt. For those who miss the deadline, late registration is available, for an additional $15.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:

This is a family-friendly event, and dogs are also welcome to join in — as long as they are on leashes and their owners pick up after them.

Free parking will be available at the Redlands Mall, the parking structure on Citrus Avenue, and surrounding streets.

Pre-check-in and late registration will be held Friday, Oct. 5, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Pathway Church, 611 E. Cypress Ave., Redlands. T-shirts and walk bibs will be distributed.
