Two major road closures will affect drivers using Interstate 10 in Redlands, starting Sept. 18.
On Tuesday, Sept. 18, at 9 p.m., the onramp at 6th Street will be closed for 10 days, reopening on Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m. Beginning Sunday, Sept. 23, at 9 p.m., the eastbound University Street offramp will be closed, reopening Thursday, Oct. 4, at 6 a.m.
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has been working in Redlands since June on the $26.1 million Interstate 10 Pavement Rehabilitation Project. The pavement on the freeway is being repaired between Orange Street and Ford Street, and the entire project is expected to take nine months. Caltrans says the project will make the freeway safer and easier on vehicles.
