The California Street/Redlands Blvd. Improvement Project has missed its previously stated Sept. 7 completion date.
Due to the ongoing construction and road closures, Mission Elementary School can only be accessed by students and their parents, and school buses are still dropping off and picking up on Redlands Blvd.
City officials had hoped that most of the $4.6 million project, which involves realigning and widening California Street, installing traffic signals, re-establishing the Orange Blossom Trailhead, and striping, would be completed before kids went back to school in August.
The intersection traffic continues to be regulated by flashing red lights, requiring drivers to remember the rules of the road for driving through and turning at intersections. —Jennifer
