Due to the heatwave that hit Southern California last week, the LifeStream blood bank was unable to hold several mobile blood drives, and now, there is a need to make up for those lost donations.
Not only were mobile blood banks canceled because of the heat, but many donors said it was too hot and they were unable to make their appointments at LifeStream fixed-site centers. LifeStream supplies blood products and services to more than 80 hospitals across Southern California, with donations helping everyone from women giving birth to people undergoing cancer treatment.
The closest blood bank to Redlands is in San Bernardino, at 384 W. Orange Show Road. Donors can come in from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday; 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday; and 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
